Mother's Day ROCKED! Tod cooked out on the grill.. yummy k-bobs! Tuesday and Utah gave me a very funny card. They actually argued on the card about who picked out the card and if it was the coolest of all cards.. classic mother's day card! Tuesday and Utah gave me a Willow Angel for wisdom.. it is beautiful. I missed Hannah but she had a great day in KC!

Tick bite gone bad!

On Friday morning I removed a brown wood tick from my calf. For most of Friday it was a red spot about the size of a quarter that itched a little. By Saturday morning, this is what it looked like and I had to go to the convenient care clinic. It is infected and I am on antibiotics now and it itches and hurts... way to go, only me....
I am posting this because I did not want to go to the doctor and thought it would heal on its own. Tod made me go and it is a good thing. Once a tick bite is infected, if you do not catch it early... well, the treatment becomes more aggressive, expensive, and painful (according to my convenient care physician)... so.. don't want.. GO to the doctor...

The search begins..

We had high hopes that this would be 'the one' but there are some challenges that have to be overcome first... 3-pt seatbelts, brake check, engine check, can she drive a 3 on the column... but it is gorgeous and the search is still on.. if you see a Comet or a Fairlane (something similar would be fine).. let us know!

Saturday - baseball, cook-out, family, and friends...

We started our day at the ballpark watching some baseball. A student of mine was pitching and we watched most of his game before heading out for Utah's ball game. Tuesday, Hannah, Trent, Elizabeth, James, Emmet, Tod, and I were all there.. it was quite a crowd and a fun time for all.

After the ball game, everyone met at our house and we cooked out and goofed off the rest of the day. It was a great day of family, friends, and fun! This has been a fantastic weekend... we are very blessed.

Little Emmet is ADORABLE, of course. He loves his little jeep walker and was all of the house. He laughed and laughed at the kids and zipped all around the house.

The aftermath... cleaning, resting, and even the dog is crushed!

It's like living in a circus - says, Tod!

Tod worked all day around the pool - scooping leaves... digging out algae.. fixing broken valves.. he was SO TIRED.. and his back hurt and when I got home, this is what I saw.. he says he was stretching out his back!

Hannah and Trent arrived around 5pm to the smell of homemade chocolate chip cookies. Tuesday arrived around 6pm, starving, so we headed out to Bostons in Bentonville for pizza. Trent and Utah played some pool while we had silly conversations at the dinner table.
My feet were hurting because of new shoes.. Tuesday was predictably silly.. Hannah was a goofball.. Utah was being an odd one.. so we had some silly conversations and behaviors...
As we were walking to the car - the kids were heading to Blockbuster for movies and video games - Tod says... It's like living in the circus!!!

FROGS FROGS GO AWAY!

Utah has some SERIOUS frog noise outside his window and we didn't realize how close the frogs actually are to his window.. until we looked.. and WOW! The frogs really like the side of our house! It is like camping indoors!

We had fun, fun, fun

We had a FANTASTIC time visiting St. Joseph and spending time with Hannah, Trent, Grandma Young, and Grandpa Young. We spent Saturday at World of Fun! There were very few people in the park and we waited in VERY short lines. It was AWESOME! We rode every ride we wanted to ride and finished off the day with a go-kart race. Trent and Hannah tricked me into some spinning rides and I was green most of the afternoon. It was tons of fun!

On Sunday we visited Missouri Western. The campus is beautiful! The dorm is very new and Hannah has a bathroom most college students only dream of :-) There are ponds for fishing and hiking trails. The furniture was new.. and Trent's room was MUCH cleaner than Hannah's.
On Sunday we met Grandma and Grandpa Young for lunch at the Olive Garden. It was so nice being able to visit with them. Utah was pumped about seeing his Grandpa Young! We have to do this more often!

sparkly shoes....

They even have a safe in their room!!

We got to meet Kelsey.. yeah!
